High Fiber Foods For Cleansing - September 24th, 2009

There are many foods that are high in fiber, and one group includes nuts, beets, and seeds.  Two of the most fibrous foods that exist in the world fall into this category, and they are lima beans and lentils.  Children seem to hate two foods, and they are broccoli, and lima beans.  However when lima beans are cooked right, they can be extremely delicious.  Lentils also can be tasty, and a popular use is in lentil soup.

Other beans that are particularly high in fiber include kidney beans, soy beans, and black beans.  All these can be used commonly in many dishes, including chilies and Mexican foods.  Next let’s take a look at the many nuts that are high in fiber.  When you’re at a baseball game chomping down on some peanuts, you are actually helping your body get the fiber it needs.  Peanuts are high in fiber, as are some other common snacks.

These include pistachios, walnuts, almonds, and cashews.  All of these nuts are delicious, and with a limited amount of salt are healthy too.  Last I would like take a look at the seeds that are high in fiber.  Pumpkin seeds are (which are always very popular around Halloween), as well as my personal favorite, the best snack there is in my opinion, sunflower seeds.
